My
political activism began during my early teens. I can still remember the
political issues that concerned me and which I would research, as well as
hours of door-to-door campaigning for candidates (both local and federal).
Though I was too young to vote, that didn't keep me from doing what I could
to share the campaign message of those I thought were best. My passion for
diligently working for the things (and people) I thought were right has been
my guiding force for many years.
It was during my teen years I developed my public speaking and debate
skills, an asset that has served me well for radio, tv, and live speaking
engagements throughout my adult life as a writer and activist. I also began
my writing during my teens (and knew it was to be a significant part of my
life). I have always been an avid reader, thus, writing followed naturally.
Throughout my writing career I also used my talent to bring support to
causes I believed in, raising money for charitable organizations as well as
expressing my political opinions regarding issues and candidates. For
several years, people have been urging me to run for public office.
My views have always crossed party lines. During my life, I have been both a
registered Republican and registered Democrat. I feel both parties
(platforms) have elements of truth and good in them, but it is my opinion
the majority of politicians are more focused on political agendas and
careers than on the liberty, freedom, and thus the best interest of their
constituents.
"COMING HOME" TO THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY
Joining the Libertarian Party was like "coming home." I had been a
Libertarian for many years (without realizing it)...a phenomena many
Americans can and will relate to once they learn more about the LP.
Brief Bio:
Christine was born January 16, 1967 in Houston, Texas, and lives in northern
Colorado. She is single, and happily involved with her companion Philip for
the past three years.
She was recipient of The Outstanding American Award in 2002 and the
International Amigas Peace Power Prize in 2000 due to her humanitarian work;
as a freelance writer, her articles have appeared in numerous publications
worldwide; she is author of an internationally popular book, A Mountain In
The Wind - An Exploration of the Spirituality of John Denver; she founded,
managed and was hostess for a major annual musical event for 6 years which
brought visitors to Colorado from worldwide; she founded and was president
of a nationwide charity which helped thousands in need across America for
over 7 years; she was advertising sales director for a national physical
fitness magazine for 3 years; and has donated her public speaking and
writing skills to help raise public awareness and support for a number of
charitable causes.
EXCELLENT COMMUNICATOR
She has written numerous articles for state, national and international
publications (newspapers, magazines, online publications). Her articles have
covered a wide range of topics: the arts, technology, business, politics,
health, environment, social justice, human spirituality, and profile
interviews with high achievers.
Christine is an excellent communicator on radio, TV, or before live
audiences: she has appeared on numerous national & international radio shows
as a guest in interviews ranging from 30-minute interviews to predominately
full-length 1-3 hour shows. Some shows have been heard across the United
States (syndicated and heard on PBS stations), others originated from the
States and were broadcast worldwide covering 42 US states and 21 nations
including England, throughout the UK, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and
elsewhere. Shows have included Alex Merklinger's Mysteries of the Mind, PBS'
Jill & Friends, The Free Market News Network interview show with host John
St. George, The Meria Heller Show (reaching 60 nations), Uri Geller's
Parascience And Beyond radio program from London, Jim Slinksky's The
Sportsman's Connection, and a live BBC World News interview. She has also
been asked to be on Colorado radio stations. (She also contributes to Spox
Talk radio, an online (and Vermont FM) radio show, entitled My View with
Christine Smith.)
OTHER INTERESTS
When not working, she enjoys a variety of activities and interests: aerobic
and anaerobic (weightlifting) exercise, hiking & backpacking, chess,
astronomy, target practice with her 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, avid
reader, films (especially Anthony Hopkins'), computers, gardening, cooking,
music (classical, folk/country, Broadway, & more), art, history.
In addition to the activities mentioned in the above brief bio, I am also a
singer, and have performed in concert and sang at public events. During this
past year (2006), in addition to my writing, I began to pursue a career in
modeling/acting (and have since declined two film scripts). Due, however, to
my strong concern for my country and the well-being of our people, I have
decided to set aside pursuing that career, in favor of devoting myself to
doing what I can to help save America.
PATH TO LIBERTY
Be it through my campaign, and through elected office, I will make a
positive difference through the changes I can make and the rampant
corruption I will expose. Americans deserve representative government; we
deserve protection of our natural rights; we deserve the truth and the
ability to live our lives as we choose in freedom and liberty. I can help
get our nation on the path to liberty again...and thus am forsaking other
career opportunities at this time as I feel this is the greater, more
important, calling in which to use my abilities.

Ethical Spectacle, The Rocky Mountain News, The Denver Post, etc.), and
